O'Hara Mill Homestead and Conservation Area, Madoc Ontario
A
popular pioneer village and conservation area north of Madoc has received another
financial boost as the result of a successful fund-raising dinner held at the
Madoc Township Hall on Saturday June 9,2007.
The sawmill, built by the O'Haras, is reputedly the only such
water-powered upright frame saw left in Ontario. It operated for more than 40
years and continued to operate for several years as a tourist attraction ...
In recent years, the facility has been the chosen site for numerous
weddings and special events, and will be the scene of this year's annual O'Hara
Mill Pioneer Village Heritage Day is always the last Saturday in July.
